‘Supernatural’ season 9: Misha Collins talks directing Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles

Misha Collins -Tonight’s “Supernatural” season 9 episode is going to be entertaining to watch for so many different reasons. For one, you have much more in the way of mythology coming up as to the Mark of Cain, and getting more insight into the Men of Letters’ past.

Also, Misha Collins is directing! While tonight may not be Castiel-heavy at all, the series regular will still have his handiwork all over “Mother’s Little Helper” as he takes on the challenge of navigating noted pranksters Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles through their various scenes. At one point (or technically at two points), he ended up getting a pie in the face for his efforts.

So how do you keep your co-stars in line? While complimenting the two on their acting ability, Misha took another opportunity to skewer them playfully in a TVLine interview:

“It’s very simple: Find a way to convince them if they do it well — and quickly — that they’ll get to go home. That’s the carrot that you dangle in front of the boys. It’s very simple manipulation.”

Misha also shared the following (and very funny quote) about how Jensen, who has directed a handful of episodes, lent him a helping hand at times:

“He gave me lots of tips and lots of advice, and it was all very helpful. The fact that Jensen has directed before made him a little bit nicer to me than he would have otherwise been. He was, obviously, fully complicit in pranking me, but he also wanted to support me and make sure that I had a good experience as a director. He was actually very helpful, in many respects, for a complete a***ole.”

We for one love the relationship that these guys all have together, and it’s yet another reason to appreciate the show and its #SPNfamily. Everyone seems to constantly have a good time and a sense of humor.

What do you think is going to be coming up tonight, and do you love the fun relationship that the guys on this show seem to have with each other?
