NBC’s ‘The Voice’ preview: Alaska and Madi, Audra McLaughlin face off
For the preview video below, you can take advantage of the opportunity to watch two contenders in Alaska and Madi face off against Audra McLaughlin in what is going to be a showdown set to “When Will I Be Loved.” The performance is pleasant, but not altogether surprising or spellbinding. We blame this, once again, on the lame Battle Rounds format. It’s very difficult to force an accomplished performer to go in there and create something new and artistic with a person she has never met in her entire life.
If we had to pick one of the acts to advance based on what we hear, we’d probably go with the duo just because there is something a little more interesting there. Talent-wise, they are both about the same here … but we would like to see if a group other than the Swon Brothers can do really well on this show. There have only been a couple of occasions, after all, where we have seen a pair actually go anywhere in the live shows, and thanks to what we saw on the show last week, Alaska and Madi are now the only representatives for the duos even in the competition at this point.
What do you think about this preview, and do you believe that the duo may have actually pulled this one off? Share your thoughts below, and be sure to click here to check out our review of all of the battles on “The Voice” so far. We’ll have a new review Monday after this one airs!
