‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 5, episode 18 preview: ‘Zero Days,’ and Daniela Ruah’s struggle

You know that you have a big “NCIS: Los Angeles” episode coming up with the first promo for it basically makes it seem like the entire world is in jeopardy. Maybe this is in part CBS really wanting everyone to know that their episode “Zero Days” (certainly an ominous name) is kind of a big deal; even if it is a little self-aggrandizing, we are still interested in what is coming up.

Part of the reason for that is that you have a story here that is going to put Eric into some compromising positions, and it also will put Kensi in a very unusual headspace as her story overseas continues to be a mystery. Just take a look at the synopsis below:

“The NCIS: LA team is called in to determine if the computer system that controls Russian missiles is at risk after Eric overhears his friend, a computer systems expert, being attacked during online game play. Meanwhile, Kensi is shocked when a familiar face from her past shows up in Afghanistan.”

To an extent, we do very much understand any frustration that a fan of the show could have over the way in which Kensi has been separated from the group for so long. However, there is also a part of us at the same time who gives a ton of credit to all parties involved for finding a unique way to keep Daniela Ruah a part of the entire season even though she is expected to give birth pretty soon.

There are only a few episodes left in this season before the end is near, and thanks to that, we very much expect things to only get crazier the rest of the way as this story continues to play out.
