‘Psych’ series finale preview: James Roday, Dule Hill, cast reveal favorite episodes

Psych -

Are you getting emotional about the end of “Psych“? Well, the cast is here to help you reflect on the good times.

As a part of their commitment to ensuring that the show ends in a way that is very satisfying for fans, USA had an all-night marathon on Friday featuring all of the cast members’ favorite episodes. Not only that, but they also had some messages from each one of the longtime regulars introducing their respective installment. You get a quick look at all of them below.

James Roday, “Dual Spires” – This season 5 episode was a longtime dream of his to write, as it is an homage to “Twin Peaks” from start to finish. It’s a great one, but one that is infinitely better if you love the source material.

Dule Hill, “High Top Fade Out” – We just love watching this video below for the A Playa Named Gus “aww yea” at the end. This season 4 episode was a classic, highlighted by the guest spots of Kenan Thompson and Jaleel white and Gus figures out why a member of his college singing group was killed.

Timothy Omundson, “Last Night Gus” – A very fun season 6 episode that is reminiscent of “The Hangover.” and also a chance to see what happens when Shawn has to put together the pieces of his own past. There was also some really fun Lassiter stuff in here for Omundson to play.

Maggie Lawson, “Scary Sherry” – This episode is all the way back at the end of a first season, but a fun take on the classic “sorority killer” that O’Hara was undercover trying to stop.

Corbin Bernsen, “Mr. Yin Presents…” – Corbin chose the season 4 finale, and one of the show’s more emotional episodes. He never really got a chance to be the silly one on the show, but he did turn in some of the most-underrated performances.

Kirsten Nelson, “There Might Be Blood” – We don’t know if this will be an episode you remember right away given that it was all the way back in season 3, but you found out more about Chief Vick in this one through the arrival of her sister (Jane Lynch).

What is a sign of how good this show was for many years is that we have our own top 5 list we’ll be presenting soon, and while all of the episodes listed here are great, none of them are on our list. There’s still more to talk about, and we will publish that one at some point Sunday. You can find it at the link here, along with the rest of our coverage on the “Psych” finale.
