‘The Tomorrow People’ episode 17 preview: Jedikiah tells Stephen his ‘plan’
All this time that the two have been working together, Mark Pellegrino’s character has known that there was a far greater story happening behind the scenes when it comes to Stephen’s dad. He was never technically dead in the way in which it was assumed. Instead, what we really had was a situation where the guy was frozen in some sort of secret lair.
Jedikiah tells his nephew in the sneak peek below that all along, his plan has been to do everything in his power to ensure that he can protect Stephen’s dad from The Founder, who had quite a sinister plan. He had supposedly created some sort of device that could amplify the powers of Stephen’s father, and therefore cause destruction on a far greater level than ever before.
We don’t know if we believe Jedikiah in the slightest (mostly because of the track record), but this would at least help to explain a few facets of his personality, including why he does still care about people with powers and is even in love with one of them. You could also interpret at least some of his actions at Ultra (if you really wanted to) to him just putting on one of the greatest acts ever. Give the guy an Academy Award if this is the case.
