‘The Amazing Race 24’ preview: Will Brendon & Rachel survive close call?

Brenchel -There are few times on “The Amazing Race” that airport drama is really that exciting, and for most of this season, it has been cut off almost entirely by the producers seemingly arranging flights in advance.

Luckily, that seems to be shifting somewhat on Sunday’s episode, as we start to witness the remaining teams making the move over from Malaysia to Sri Lanka. Most of the teams are going to most likely do this with little trouble … but then there is Brendon & Rachel. The “Big Brother” favorites / masters of entertainment are put in a difficult spot: Take a flight that will surely put them behind the other teams, and with them having to do a Speed Bump to go along with it, or make a 30-minute connection that could put them back into the hunt. It’s a gutsy move to go from the connection, but probably the right one in their situation. The race is not going to have another non-elimination episode following the past one, and you don’t know what the future holds in the next city. The tasks could be really easy.

Based on the preview, we feel like most of the tasks are of the average degree of difficult. While teams could have trouble fishing (given you are relying on an animal) or with spinning plates, these are not as difficult as, say, one of those old-school, needle-in-a-haystack challenges that could literally keep you out all night trying to find a clue. There could be one or two teams that struggle, and with this and a bad cab, it is possible that Brenchel could actually catch up with a good flight.

We’re still believers in them (partially because we picked them to win before the season), but we’ll be honest here when we say that things are not looking so amazing at this very moment.

We’ll have some more good stuff to share about this episode soon, so stay tuned! For now, just be sure to race over here if you want to find out how to get more updates from our CarterMatt Newsletter.
