‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Chris Colfer to write upcoming episode
Since the start of “Glee,” many of the stars have all seen their careers take off in a variety of different ways. Lea Michele and Naya Rivera have recorded original music, Dianna Agron has gone into feature films, and Jane Lynch now has a job hosting “Hollywood Game Night.”
But for Chris Colfer, what he has really managed to get out of being on the show is an opportunity to expand upon his career as an aspiring writer. He has written a feature film in “Struck By Lightning,” and multiple editions of his book series The Land of Stories have made it onto best-seller lists. When you look at a number of these achievements, and also how badly Fox needs some sort of good publicity for a show that has struggled in the ratings this season, it is no surprise at all that Chris has been invited to pen a “Glee” episode for a little later this season.
This news was confirmed by TVLine, as creator Ryan Murphy reportedly went to Colfer earlier this year and gauged his interest in taking on a script. He has already met with some of the writers, and now comes the process of figuring out what this episode could be. There are no longer glee club competitions to frame together the rest of the show, but there are still plenty of ideas for Colfer to play with.
The last time that we saw the character on the show, the majority of the story points revolved around him trying to keep his band Pamela Lansubry together, but there were some potential issues brewing when Blaine saw a picture of Starchild kissing Kurt’s cheek online. Was this innocent? It definitely seemed like it, but we wouldn’t put it past the writers to create a whole mess more of relationship drama for the two of them … especially if a writer is an actor who enjoys playing meatier scenes.
