‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: New photos of Misha Collins directing

Misha Collins has taken on a variety of different challenges on “Supernatural” over the years, but directing is a new one. While this is a job that Jensen Ackles has done in the past on the show, “Mother’s Little Helper” on March 25 is a great opportunity to see what the man behind Castiel brings to the table.

The CW knows that having Misha as a director is really a story in itself, and with that in mind, they decided to promote the episode a little bit differently than usual. After all, how often do you see the network trying to hype up an episode by actually posting photos of the director hard at work? The answer to that is pretty much never. Photos of Misha directing = good publicity, especially when he is wearing the shirt that he is here.

Directing an episode is not just something that is handed out to anyone, either. This is an extensive process that goes on for weeks even after the show is done filming, and it requires creative vision and a passion for getting details right. The reason that you often see so many different directors on a single show is just because it is virtually impossible to have one solitary person at the help for an entire season. The only shows that we really know who are bold enough to try it are “How I Met Your Mother” and recently “True Detective” (who is not going to be doing it again).
