NBC’s ‘The Voice’ winner Tessanne Chin joining other soul singers at White House
Tessanne Chin won “The Voice” a mere matter of months ago, and she’s now getting another honor that has to go on some sort of billboard stuffed full of life accomplishments: Getting to sing at the home of the President of the United States.
In a post on her Twitter account, Chin first of all confirmed the big news about her upcoming performance from Washington DC with the following:
“So honored to confirm that I will be featured on ‘Women of Soul: In Performance at the White House’ #dreamsdocometrue because of YOU!!!”
So who else is going to be featured on this big special? Think along the lines of an impressive list of important singers, whether you are talking about Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Ariana Grande, Jill Scott, Melissa Etheridge and Janelle Monae. These are people who run the gamut of major stars of today to ones who lit uo the charts in years past. This has to be the sort of guest list that makes you fall out of your chair when you are dreaming about life after “The Voice.”
According to a report from the AP, this show will be streamed from the White House on Thursday night, and from there is going to air on PBS on Monday, April 7 … which is ironically the same night of the week that “The Voice” airs. Should we expect a return performance from Tessanne at some point during this season’s run? That feels almost inevitable, and a matter of when more so than if. We’ll of course have some more news and updates on that subject when it is available.

Love, love, LOVE the way this young lady is moving in her career. When God be for you, who can be against you? Much love Tessanne, keep it going girl!!! I’m among the many who have already pre-purchased her album and I’m having that feeling that she’s gonna hit BIG! As far as The Voice is concerned, Adam is going to be gloating big time.

TO be honest, I’ve never seen any winner of “The Voice” reached at this point! If the president and the first lady can see what talent she has be performing for them well she is definitely on the right path! and the amazing thing is her album isn’t even out as yet! and from the review I’m seeing A LOT of people are waiting on that so I believe the sales would be somewhat great in the first week!

TOTALLY deserved. This accomplishment is a slap in the face to her naysayers. She’s already the most accomplished winner of The Voice without even having an album out yet. And with her list of industry cosigns and connections gradually growing and her incredibly loyal core fanbase becoming stronger, when she DOES put her album out, it’ll likely (since nothing is ever certain) be successful.
Also she’ll likely be on the Semifinal Results show like all the past winners. Or if The Voice producers are feeling extra confident about her status by then (about two and a half months from now?), she’ll be on the Finale Results show among all the huge celebs.
