NBC’s ‘The Voice’ winner Tessanne Chin joining other soul singers at White House

Tessanne Chin -Tessanne Chin won “The Voice” a mere matter of months ago, and she’s now getting another honor that has to go on some sort of billboard stuffed full of life accomplishments: Getting to sing at the home of the President of the United States.

In a post on her Twitter account, Chin first of all confirmed the big news about her upcoming performance from Washington DC with the following:

“So honored to confirm that I will be featured on ‘Women of Soul: In Performance at the White House’ #dreamsdocometrue because of YOU!!!”

So who else is going to be featured on this big special? Think along the lines of an impressive list of important singers, whether you are talking about Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Ariana Grande, Jill Scott, Melissa Etheridge and Janelle Monae. These are people who run the gamut of major stars of today to ones who lit uo the charts in years past. This has to be the sort of guest list that makes you fall out of your chair when you are dreaming about life after “The Voice.”

According to a report from the AP, this show will be streamed from the White House on Thursday night, and from there is going to air on PBS on Monday, April 7 … which is ironically the same night of the week that “The Voice” airs. Should we expect a return performance from Tessanne at some point during this season’s run? That feels almost inevitable, and a matter of when more so than if. We’ll of course have some more news and updates on that subject when it is available.
