‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau on the state of Jaime
“Game of Thrones” season 4 is launching with all-new episodes starting up on Sunday, April 6, and while the story for some characters is becoming a little clearer, Jaime Lannister is still a guy wrapped up in a certain amount of mystery. All we know, at least from the perspective of not taking the George R.R. Martin books into account, is that the man is going to be back in King’s Landing with the rest of his family for the first time in a long time.
Speaking in a new interview with Total Film Magazine, you can get a chance to see what the actor behind the role in Nikolaj Coster-Waldau had to say about some of the changes for Jaime. This is a very different man than he once was, and there are ways that his adventures with Brienne could shape him:
“I really liked the fact that the Prince Charming hair is gone, although I miss the mud, to be honest! But one of the great things about being on that show is it changes and you get to do different things every year. Of course now he’s back and clearly he was in need of a shower, but it also goes a little deeper than that. I guess in many ways he’s kind of reinventing himself – he had a bit of an identity crisis when he lost his hand and now he’s looking for a fresh start… or at least he tries to, as much as he can being in that family.”
As for whether or not Brienne will still be around, all we can say for now is that this is not going to be a particularly easy season for the character. As a matter of fact, this could be one of the hardest ones to date.
