‘Doctor Who’ season 8: Peter Capaldi on success, expectations of role

Doctor Who -Peter Capaldi is the star of “Doctor Who,” and moving forward until season 8, he has quite a challenge ahead of him. He has to find a way to meet the high expectations of people who loved Matt Smith and David Tennant before him, just as he also has to find a way to take some of the heat off of executive producer Steven Moffat. After all, what tends to happen time and time again when it comes to this or any show is that the longer that one person runs it, the more critical fans get in the process.

Luckily, Capaldi is a smart guy, and also someone who is very well aware of the sort of chatt that frequently surrounds this sort of role. Speaking (per Yahoo! TV) in a new interview with Graham Norton, the actor (who has also spent time on “The Three Musketeers”) has the following to say about the sort of emotions that he is feeling right now:

“I’ve always been a fan of the show and I love that it’s now a global success … I’m excited and slightly daunted, about how far the new series is going to travel.”

Capaldi is in Wales right now filming the series, which started up earlier this year. This will continue until August, and the new season should premiere at some point after that. There are 13 episodes and therefore 13 adventures, with each one trying to combine something old and new.

Unfortunately, we’re still going to be waiting for a while to discover what all of these stories really are … so let’s just hopw that you are the patient type.
