‘Almost Human’ finale spoilers: First look at ‘Straw Man,’ big story ahead

“Almost Human” has blazed through its first twelve episodes of the first season, and we’re now set to cross the finish line. Next week, we have another all-new episode entitled “Straw Man,” and this will be an epic story that crosses over to both the future and the past. There will be a lot of important stuff to get through in here, especially in the event that this ends up being the series finale rather than just the end of the season.

Let’s start here with what are the basics. This episode is going to be entitled “Straw Man,” and if you look below at the official synopsis, you can get a little bit of a better idea as to what exactly will be coming around the bend:

“Det. Kennex (Karl Urban) and Dorian (Michael Ealy) investigate a string of murders by a copycat of a serial killer whom Kennex’s father (guest star John Diehl) put in jail. As the investigation unfolds, biotechnology from the future sheds light on crimes of the past. Meanwhile, Dorian receives his performance evaluation since being reactivated.”

So what are the odds of a season 2? We feel like the ratings for “The Following” could impact that, but right now we’re not super-optimistic. The numbers that the finale pulls next week could end up being a real test for it, but one thing that we feel it does have going for it is that there are so many different stories that can be told, and they are not overly serialized.
