‘The X Factor’ notes: Cheryl Cole, Alex & Sierra, Nicholas McDonald, and Sam Bailey
We’ve got a ton of little “X Factor” stories to share today, so rather than try to navigate throughout our entire website to find them all, let’s give them to you in the span of one article!
Cheryl Cole rumors continue – This time around the story is that the former “X Factor” UK / USA judge is going to be handed a contract worth two million pounds, or over $3.3 million US, to return to the show for its eleventh season. Is that going to be enough for Cheryl? Maybe. The truth here is that we feel like she is probably going to be coming back on the panel at some point, but she wants to be sure that she gets almost everything that she wants to from the producers before she does. This includes ensuring that she is able to perform some of her own music and promote her career.
Some other rumored judges for the upcoming season include Dannii Minogue as well as Olly Murs.
Nicholas McDonald’s “Answerphone” video – Let’s start here by saying that we like Nicholas, but this video is the mess. We’re not really getting any evidence at all that Syco is actually trying to properly promote him or his career, and is instead trying to just bury him in the off months of the year. This video, like the song, is just so cheesy and doesn’t really give Nick enough to do.
Shorty Awards – Want to give the last champions of “The X Factor” USA a little bit of love? Then you now have an opportunity to vote for them to win a Shorty Award! You can head over to the link here to see some more information, and figure out how to give Alex & Sierra a little love while they continue to work on their debut album.
Sam Bailey speaks – So what is the current tour experience like for the “X Factor” contestants? While performing in Ireland this week, champ Sam Bailey told RTE that one of the great benefits to doing the tour is that it has allowed all of the contestants an opportunity to do more of their own thing, and not feel so much pressure thanks to the competition:
“I think everybody’s changed, everybody’s attitude is different and I feel that’s because there’s no pressure of the show. There’s no competition, we’re all worthy winners, we all got to the live finals, we all got to perform on the stage at Wembley.”
