‘Downton Abbey’ season 5: Does Michelle Dockery want to make you laugh?
Can you imagine the idea of Lady Mary coming out and telling jokes? Okay, you probably can’t … and that is probably not going to be happening on the upcoming fifth season of “Downton Abbey,” anyway.
Instead, what we are more likely to see according to the actress who plays the part is an interest in her trying to take on a few more comedic roles in the future, if she gets the opportunity to show off some of these talents. Speaking as a part of a new interview with Total Film, Michelle Dockery explained that comedy is something that she would very much like to explore at some point in the future; as a matter of fact, she even has a dream director:
“Comedy is something that I’d really like to do more of, and I’d love at some point to incorporate singing into a role … For me, it’s more about who I’d like to work with. I absolutely love Wes Anderson’s films. I find them hilarious but moving at the same time.”
Could you imagine Dockery suddenly spending some time with Bill Murray in an Anderson movie? We’d pay to see it. But anyway, whatever sort of film pursuits the actress may have at this moment are going to be whenshe is not filming the hit ITV series. She is confirmed to be appearing in the fifth season, which will premiere in the United Kingdom a little later this fall. But, the good thing about this show is that you do have a pretty hefty break in between seasons to work on other things. That is one of the nice luxuries of having a show that only makes eight episodes a year as well as a Christmas special, and one with a large cast that ensures that you don’t have to do all the work.
