ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Nathan Fillion and ‘That 70’s Show’?

Take a look -You have to love cheeky episode titles, and for the upcoming episode of “Castle“, we are going to get one that is that and then some.

According to a new report from TVLine, this episode is going to be titled “That 70’s Show,” which is a heck of a lot of fun … even if we are pretty sure that Danny Masterson and Topher Grace are not going to stop by (even if that would be pretty darn amazing). Instead, the premise here seems to be an episode that is actually set within the 1970s, which is interesting for this show for a number of reasons:

1. There really aren’t that many characters on this show who were either alive in the 1970s, or old enough to really be contributing anything of value. While we could see a very young version of Richard Castle, would he have any of that wit that Nathan Fillion brings to the part? Would Fillion even be needed for it?

2. We wonder if this is an episode that could instead bring us to the origins of some of the other characters, such as potentially more of Martha’s past, or of Beckett’s parents. We’re always up for some flashbacks, but only if they are valuable.

3. The only other thing that we could think of as a possible theory is that this is some sort of cold case episode where you have to go back so many decades to see what the world was like then in order to better understand a case that the would be working on in present day. We are currently not ruling out any of these possibilities.

Luckily, we only have a couple of months to wait until this airs … and there is some time in there for some very good mysteries before then.
