NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5: Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi sign up for ‘@midnight’

What happens when you combine two things that we very much love? Hopefully, something that is even more awesome. As someone who finds both “Community” and Comedy Central’s “@midnight” to be both supremely entertaining, we cannot stress enough how wonderful the show’s currently-scheduled February 25 episode looks on paper.

This show is set at the moment to feature Gillian Jacobs (Britta), Jim Rash (Dean Pelton), and Danny Pudi (Abed), which marks the first time than any of the three have made appearances on the Chris Hardwick-hosted “game show.” The only downside for some of you is that it comes on at … well midnight. But that’s what DVRs are for!

It really comes as little surprise that this show would be one to have a “Community” tribute episode, given that Comedy Central airs reruns of the NBC series, and houses many a “Community” fan on its staff. Hopefully, it will not take long for any of these three to completely clean house … but we personally expect Jim Rash to dominate, given his extensive comedy training.

New episodes of “Community” will return again to NBC starting up on Thursday, February 27, and will then get an opportunity to run out through the remainder of the season without having to worry about something like the Olympics coming in an interrupting anything. As for “@midnight,” the show returns from its break Tuesday with Brett Gelman, Natasha Leggero, and executive producer Tom Lennon on board. (Personally, we’re most hyped for a Nerdist-themed episode set for March with Wil Wheaton, Matt Mira, and Jonah Ray.)
