‘The X Factor’ UK: Cheryl Cole opens up whole heap of speculation about return

Cheryl Cole is a very savvy woman, and it would make sense at this point. After all, this is someone who ha dealt with the monstrosity that is the British press longer than most people can possibly bear, and it takes a lot of patience to be able to handle that without a problem.

Therefore, when Cole does something like post a “Throwback Thursday” image on Instagram of herself with Simon Cowell sitting at a judges’ table, she has to have a pretty darn good idea of just what she is insinuating. This one little photo is enough to open up a whole firestorm of speculation about a possible return to “The X Factor” UK, mere days after Simon himself confirmed that he would be returning after leaving the now-defunct American show.

Now, we have to also consider some other pieces of evidence here. The rumors about Cheryl possibly coming back to “The X Factor” have really been around for a little while now, and it is not exactly like she has done a lot to really deflect any of the conversation. Also, Nicole Scherzinger is going to be departing the panel, so there is a spot open for her.

If Cheryl does join the show, then you have to look at a panel of her, Simon, and longtime stalwart Louis Walsh. This only leaves one spot open given that Sharon Osbourne never intended to do more than one season, and that in turn begs this question: Is it possible that you could get Dannii Minogue back? This was the most-popular panel in the show’s history by a longshow, and while we really don’t feel like they are going to bring huge ratings for an entire season necessarily, it would at least get a pretty big audience tuning in for the first few episodes.
