‘American Idol XIII’: Photos, impressions of Majesty Rose, Brandy Neelly, top 15 girls
On Tuesday night (a bit of an earlier start this week), “American Idol XIII” is going to be back with the first of a few pivotal episodes. These will be when we get an opportunity to really figure out who are the contenders this season, and who could be cut before we even have a chance to even see them perform again. Yes, there are some surprising eliminations on the way. (Be prepared for a few groans on that.)
For the time being, though, we’ve got for you below all the official photos of the 15 ladies that are still in the competition competing for the title. Tomorrow, we’ll be back with the guys. It’s a pretty eclectic group that includes everything from country to pop to soul, even though we don’t think that there is necessarily a powerhouse on the same level as Candice Glover last year. Typically, we go into this part of the season thinking that the ladies will be dominant, but this time around, we really have just as much confidence in the men.
Who are the favorites? We’ll be doing full rankings next weekend when we get down to the top 13 and we’ve really heard everyone perform; for now, let’s just share who we feel are the three worth watching the most.
3. Jessica Meuse – A very interesting vocalist who has been sabotaged at times by an edit that makes her come across as either jaded or unsympathetic towards the other contestants. We see this more as just an inability to relate; she’s a grown woman who has been working in this industry, in comparison to a 16-year old who has had an easy life and just tried out on a whim.
2. Brandy Neelly – Our favorite female country singer on the show since Kellie Pickler. Sorry, Skylar Laine and Lauren Alaina. She’s got a strong sense of self, and even though country always does pretty well on this show, she could still surprise people deep in the competition.
1. Majesty Rose – Love the name, and we still cannot get her “Violet Hill” audition out of our brain. It was just without a doubt the best audition that we’ve seen on the show all season, and it showed that there is something so different and special about her.
