‘The X Factor’ UK shocker: Nicole Scherzinger will not return for season 11

How is this for something most in the reality TV industry did not see coming? After it was looking for quite a while that Nicole Scherzinger would return to “The X Factor” UK for another season, it was instead announced and pretty much confirmed today that she will not be a part of the upcoming 11th season.

There has been some confusion out there, but based on some comments from Simon Cowell about her “always being a part” of the show’s family, it seems as though she is for sure going to be saying farewell. If nothing else, this does at least guarantee that she is leaving the show on a reasonably good note. She was wacky and mostly entertaining on the British show, and redeemed herself greatly after after being mostly panned for her performance on the American show when she was a part of that.

Maybe this was a strategic decision in a way with chemistry in mind. For whatever reason, Nicole and Simon didn’t work well on TV together, and perhaps she was a preemptive move to put herself in a bad position. In addition to that, we also know that Nicole has a music career, and there are all sorts of rumors out there regarding whether or not we could be seeing Cheryl Cole coming back on the show in the future. For the time being, though, she is not tipping her cap one way or another.
