‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Candice Accola teases Caroline’s future

So far on “The Vampire Diaries,” the story with the Caroline Forbes character has clearly been focused around romance in one way or another. First of all, you had her state of things when it comes to Tyler, and that relationship going south; then, you had her spontaneous hookup with Klaus that sent almost everyone on Planet Internet into a tailspin, especially when you consider the fact that it is going to be very hard to see the two of them together again anytime soon.

So is it possible that we are going to see something a little bit different from her the rest of the season? The nice thing about this article is that rather than focusing more on her love life, we’re talking instead about what some of her circumstances and challenges are going to be coming up. The quote below is from her chat with TV Guide, where she explains how some of the stories of this season are going to start to play out:

“Caroline will focus her attention on finding out what this virus is capable of. We’re [also] going to have a big wake-up call to the new mythology we’ve slowly gotten to learn about over the season with the Travelers, as well as the who, the what and the why of it all.”

Hopefully, this trajectory of Caroline being focused on other things will win out, since sometimes it’s better not to see anything romance-related for a little while. There is so much more to a character’s life than that!
