‘Girls’ season 3, episode 7 preview: Andrew Rannells returns and so much more

On Sunday night’s “Girls,” brace yourself to see a familiar face: Elijah is re-entering the world of the show! Andrew Rannells had some other commitments to take on that kept him from being a part of the show for most of season 2, but he’s finally back and can have a larger presence the rest of the way.

We’ll start here with a sort-of spoiler that Elijah will not be departing the series in grand fashion again. It was announced a while back that if “Girls” was renewed, he’d be a series regular for the fourth season … and it has already been confirmed to be coming back. So Elijah fans, commence your rejoicing immediately! He will not be immediately greeted with celebration, but there is always hope for something to change a little bit later on.

As for the rest of this story, expect to see some questioning come up as it is revealed that Marnie is getting closer to Ray, which in turn could drive Shoshanna closer and closer to a total meltdown. She has at times seemingly held herself within an illusion that she was in a better place than most other people, and now that it is starting to sink in that not all her ambitions may turn into reality, she has to rethink parts of her life.

Also, the four main characters are actually going to be together again, which is the first time that has happened in a good while. We personally don’t care so much about whether or not they are, just as long as the story around them is entertaining.
