‘The X Factor’ notes: Simon Cowell, Alex & Sierra, and Fifth Harmony news

The latest -We’ve got a few assorted “X Factor” updates, and you know what that means: We’re going back to the notes! It’s been a while since we’ve presented an “X Factor” notes article, but we have a feeling that we’re going to remember how to do it just fine.

The big Simon Cowell story – This was an interesting one to hear about today, mostly because it shows just how desperate Simon was to keep this show on the air at almost all costs; apparently, he tried so hard to get someone interested in keeping “The X Factor” around that he even pitched the show to NBC. The Hollywood Reporter claims that this was the last-ditch effort for the show before the news was formally announced that the show was going to be canceled.

NBC clearly didn’t need the show, given that they have already “The Voice,” and also “America’s Got Talent” in the summer (which Simon executive-produces). It is possible that Simon could join this show at some point in the future, but for the time being the judging panel is set.

Fifth Harmony’s concert tour – Want to get a taste of what Fifth Harmony’s performances are like live? Then just watch a pretty comprehensive video below from their performance in San Jose. Obviously if you are a big fan, we don’t think you seeing part of the show via the internet is going to deter you at all from going to see a concert live. For one, you’re going to get much better quality than a video.

Alex & Sierra waiting on an album date – For those of you wanting another album update from the reigning champs, they say on Twitter that things are coming along nicely; while there is no date set yet, they did write (and we’re putting it in here verbatim) that it’s “moving along verrrryyyy well.”

We’ll of course have more updates there as they come out; Alex & Sierra are one of the only major acts from the show to date who have spoken up about the end of the show.
