‘The X Factor’ UK: Simon Cowell confirms talks with Cheryl Cole

Just in case you were wondering whether or not it is possible that you could see Cheryl Cole grace “The X Factor” UK in the near future, we do have an answer for you: It’s possible! Of course (and as you probably are very well aware), this is by no means a guarantee that the former Girls Aloud singer will actually return for more of the show in the future.

Speaking (per BANG Showbiz) while at the auditions this week for “Britain’s Got Talent,” the music mogul confirmed that the idea of bringing Cheryl back has been tossed around given there being at least one open spot on the judging panel; however, it may all come down at the end of the day to whether or not she actually wants to be back for another run:

“To be fair to Cheryl, it hasn’t been about the money with her … It’s about whether she wants to do it and whether she can handle the pressure, so I’m not quite sure [if she will come back] yet. She had her poker face on.”

Now, we do have to say that this is a pretty questionable choice of words for Simon. If we were trying to convince someone to come on the show, we wouldn’t challenge them in the same way that we would have challenged someone to take a shot in fourth-grade basketball. Why would you forcibly go after someone in the press? Let Cheryl decide when she wants to decide; plus, we don’t really think that getting the entire gang back together is really going to fix the show’s falling ratings. That is just a narrative that the show likes to tell.
