‘Agents of SHIELD’ spoilers: More on Jaimie Alexander, Lady Sif’s arrival

Are you ready for some more great drama on Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD”? The great news about some of the stories ahead are that they will provide an opportunity to see some classic Marvel faces introduced into the show, and that includes someone in Lady Sif who is particular notable to fans of the “Thor” franchise.

So when will you see Jaimie Alexander play the role on the small screen for the first time? The episode will air come Tuesday, March 11, and it will serve as an opportunity for Sif to assist / potentially save the entire SHIELD team. The installment is entitled “Yes Men.”

So just how excited are the members of the creative team about this episode? Let’s just allow executive producer Jed Whedon to say for himself. Just take a look at what he had to say to TV Guide in a new interview:

“We always have our radar up for ways to tie our series into the Marvel films and bringing in an Asgardian really cements that connection … Lady Sif comes here on a hunting mission — sent by Odin — to find her arch-enemy Lorelei and bring her back to Asgard. It throws our agents for a loop when they find themselves in a fight right alongside this powerful woman from Thor’s world.”

Obviously, the benefits to getting Alexander on the show are huge, given that this is an opportunity for ABC to bring in some more ratings, and for “Agents of SHIELD” to address the massive “superhero problem” that it has had since almost the beginning. Here is the ultimate irony when it comes to that. This is a show that never advertised that it was about people with powers, but it is all many fans really want to see.
