‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Lost’ alum to play young Leopold
Even though there may not be any “Lost” alumni, save for Emilie de Ravin, in the series regular cast for “Once Upon a Time,” what is pretty interesting is that the show has still found a way to incorporate as many of them into the show as possible. You have seen Jorge Garcia appear, and Rebecca Mader is coming up soon; now, we know that Eric Lange (otherwise known as Stuart Radzinsky) is going to be playing a part of his own later this season.
Remember that bit of casting intel about the show looking for a younger version of King Leopold? Well, E! News is reporting that Lange is set to play the then-Prince Leopold on the upcoming 18th episode of the season, entitled “Bleeding Through.” He is described as a charming man who is well-intentioned at the time, and does genuinely want to fall in love. It will be nice to find out some more backstory for the man, especially since you know that he will eventually become the father of Snow White herself.
So why use so many “Lost” actors? The easy answer is because showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz each know them all very well already thanks to their days working on the show. They have also still kept away some that would in ways be tied too closely to the original show, hence the lack of Terry O’Quinn or Matthew Fox (we would be happy, though, to see Dominic Monaghan or Harold Perrineau in the future). There are others, such as Daniel Dae Kim or Elizabeth Mitchell, who could be perfect for the show, but they already have full-time jobs on “Hawaii Five-0” and “Revolution” that don’t often film in Vancouver (though the former did shoot some Grace Park scenes there this year). Obviously, we cannot forget about Naveen Andrews being a series regular over on “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.”
What do you think about the casting, and do you think that more “Lost” alumni is always a good thing for this show?
