‘Criminal Minds’ season 9, episode 14 spoilers: Paget Brewster on 200th episode and beyond

Tonight is a big night for “Criminal Minds.” After all, this is the opportunity to really start to celebrate 200 episodes of a show that has become a little bit of an institution over the past decade or so on CBS. You have seen many actors come and go, and also cases that ranged from challenging to entertaining.

One of the most popular characters through and through was Emily Prentiss; and while Paget Brewster may no longer be a regular, she is at least turning up tonight in order to lend her famed character to a story that clearly has some pretty interesting implications to it. JJ and Cruz are captured, and she is going to fly in from London to lend a helping hand.

So why is Prentiss in the end such a major catalyst for everything that unfolds? Brewster herself looks to explain that a as a part of a new TVLine interview:

“I think the reason for that was because Prentiss has information on JJ that no one else knew — the same way that J.J. spirited Prentiss out of the country, after Doyle almost killed her, and kept the secret that she was alive. I thought it was nice to see that mirror, years later, of these professional former teammates who count on each other and love each other helping each other out and saving each other.”

For all you diehard Prentiss fans, you should know that Brewster is interested in going back on the show at some point depending on the story, saying that she has a number of friends and memories from the experience.
