‘Bones’ season 9 moving back to Mondays in March, renewed for season 10

What's ahead -How is this for a pair of breaking “Bones” stories? Next to seeing Booth and Brennan solving just about every big case, this is the best news that the show could possibly get.

Let’s start off here with the news that almost everyone saw coming: The show is coming back for a tenth season! The ratings have been good enough for us to see this coming a mile away, and for the time being, we are assuming that this will be the end of the road for the show based on recent quotes that season 10 will “likely” be it. But, you never know for sure; in the event that the ratings for this upcoming season tank out for whatever reason for some of the other shows, it could get another year as an insurance policy.

In a statement confirming this big news, Fox programming head Kevin Reilly touted everything that the producers, along with series stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, have done so far:

“Over the course of nine seasons, Bones has grown from a hit crime procedural into a beloved pillar of our lineup that resonates with fans in a way that only the best of shows can. Our viewers have embraced Emily, David and the entire cast and characters of Bones as their very own, and I think they are going to love what Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan have planned for Season 10!”

As for the other big news, “Bones” will move back to its previous Monday-night timeslot on March 10, following the finale of “Almost Human.” The Friday-night timeslot is going to be filled by none other than “Kitchen Nightmares,” which is yet another reminder that the Gordon Ramsay machine is continuing to work in full force for the network. Personally, we realize that most people are going to like this news; but given all the competition on Mondays, including “How I Met Your Mother” and “The Voice,” the show was actually flourishing on Fridays. Plus, it was a nice lead-in to a new show in “Enlisted” that really needs the help.
