‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: JoAnna Garcia Swisher teases Ariel’s return

In some ways, you could say that there is a neat little bow already around the story of Ariel on “Once Upon a Time.” After all, this “Little Mermaid” has managed to find Prince Eric in Storybrooke, and the two now are potentially on their road to a happily ever after. She has what she was hoping to have for so many years (including the ones without a voice), so what else could there be?

Well, the lucky news is that, as reported previously, there will still be Ariel stories ahead; while the nature of them is unclear, JoAnna Garcia Swisher did recently (per E! News) tease that she could bring a little bit of fun back to the show:

“Ariel’s coming back, and I may have found my prince charming, but I think that you might need a little naïve mermaid to come back in town, maybe stir up some business.”

Ariel is not going to be alone when it comes to returning characters to the “Once Upon a Time” world, as you are also going to be seeing Rose McIver return in some form as Tinker Bell. The more interesting question here is going to be what happens to all of them when the show does return to ABC March 9? There could be a temporary interruption, for example, between Ariel and Eric if she is sent back to the ocean with a tail thanks to Storybrooke being destroyed; meanwhile, there could also be a problem if Tinker Bell is still struggling to figure out how to be a fairy again. Since we do not full understand the rules that come with characters going back to their previous worlds, there could be a great deal of change that comes with it.
