‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15, episode 13 preview: Beyond gang violence

Law & Order: SVU logoWe are not going to sit here and lie to you: The sneak peek from Wednesday night’s new “Law & Order: SVU” episode is pretty difficult to watch. This should not come as a surprise, really, to anyone who has watched this show for an extended period of time. It is a series that revolves around the attempt to try to solve a number of rape-related cases in New York, so of course there are going to be very difficult cases that require a lead stomach to ready push through.

The case featured in the sneak peek below is one that contains quite a few different elements, including gang violence and politics. Why would a gang rape the girlfriend of one of their own members? That is something that Benson, Amaro, and the rest of the team are struggling to figure out. One such theory is that he is set up to be the fall guy of the group whenever things go awry, and after a mistake, maybe this was their way of punishing him. There are also a few other theories fleshed out here, but we are much too early in the process to have an answer one way or another.

While it is not shown off in this sneak peek, one of the other stories to expect in this episode is going to be the official promotion of Mariska Hargitay’s character to Sargeant, which we imagine is going to be a much more pleasant occasion than anything that you are seeing in the video here (at least we hope so, since anything is possible when it comes to this show).
