‘Sherlock’ season 3, episode 2 (PBS) preview: Three things to expect from Watson’s wedding

Sherlock season 3Ready for some more “Sherlock” in America? Tomorrow marks the airing of “The Sign of Three,” an episode that is going to be very important in the personal lives of some of the series’ characters. After all, it is not every day that you have an opportunity to witness a major character being married.

During this installment, the character of John Watson is going to tie the knot to Mary, and of course none other than Sherlock Holmes will be in attendance to oversee everything. Is he the sort of guest that you would ideally want at all of your weddings? We can’t imagine that he is, but he just so happens in this occasion to be the guest that Watson is receiving (even in a Best Man role). He will just have to make do.

Now, we turn to a trio of scoops about what you can see over the course of this 90 minutes:

1. What we mean in saying that Sherlock is not the perfect wedding guest is simply that he is aloof, and none to make a spectacle of some things and never act in a way that is expected. You may see that a few times this weekend courtesy of his wedding speech, which frames much of the entire episode.

2. Everyone loves a good bachelor party, right? Well, let’s just say that the one Holmes gives at the wedding may very well be the funniest moment that the series has produced to date. We don’t want to say anything more out of risk of ruining it.

3. For those of you looking for a mystery, there is also going to be that to go along with everything else. The only thing worth noting is that this case is not exactly going to be the major driving force of the episode, and it only takes up a small percentage of it.

We will have another take on this episode (to go along with our initial review, which contains spoilers) after it airs on American shores. Meanwhile, be sure to sign up for our CarterMatt Newsletter now to get even more great scoop!
