‘The Bachelor’: Juan Pablo Galavis contestant Kelly Travis has gay parent

Just when we thought that there may not be that much to say about “The Bachelor” today following Juan Pablo Galavis’ apology for some controversial remarks about homosexuality and the show, a little wrinkle in the story pops up that makes this all the more complicated.

Remember Kelly Travis? Given that she is still on the show, you probably do. This is a woman who was at first known mostly because of her occupation being listed as “dog lover,” but she actually received the group date rose at the ironically dog-themed group date this past week. Now, she’s made it clear that she has an extra reason to take offense to the controversy that is out there. Just take a look at what she had to say on Twitter:

“My only thoughts are, I have a gay parent and I turned out lovely”

Galavis did say this afternoon that he did not intend to be seen as homophobic in saying that there should not be a gay “Bachelor,” and that his comment about it being “pervert” was something that was the result of a language barrier and him not knowing precisely the right word to say in this context.

Now, we just have to wonder this: If there is a “Women Tell All” special this year, what do you think that Kelly is going to say to Juan Pablo? This immediately has the potential to be the most confrontational one in history, especially if there are a lot of hurt feelings that have come as a result of the show as well as the comment he made.

What do you think about Kelly’s comment, and do you think that there are going to be more contestants who speak out about this issue? Share your thoughts below!
