‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Take a tour with Aidy Bryant before Drake episode

Before you watch tomorrow night’s new “Saturday Night Live” featuring Drake as host, why not take advantage of the opportunity to see a little bit of what happens behind the scenes?

Aidy Bryant to us has been one of the standouts of this season, and has gone all-out in many sketches along with the brilliant Worst Woman on an Airplane bit that we first saw back in the fall. In the video below, she gives you a tour of where many of her costumes are stored, and it is a pretty massive array of clothing representing multiple members of the cast.

There are quite a few little funny moments in here, including a little jig that Aidy (sporting a pretty ironic t-shirt) and Kate McKinnon do at various times backstage. We also learn that there are such things as Man Spanx and Butt Pads that are actually included as a part of wardrobe … just in case you were ever that curious. There are also a few other things used to cover up your unmentionables just in case of a freak accident onstage.

The changing booths to us are one of the most interesting things in here, mostly because it gives you a little more insight into how quickly everyone has to run backstage, get into a different set of clothing, and then get back onstage in time to do another sketch. “SNL” is a crazy operation that has so many moving parts in order to work, and this is just a piece of the very funny puzzle.
