‘Shameless’ season 4 star William H. Macy not a fan of Harry Styles’ sandwich-eating ways

William H. Macy currently makes a living as a star on the Showtime series “Shameless,” and now, he is establishing himself as rather fearless when it comes to taking on one of the largest fan regimes in the entire world: One Direction fans. These are people who run the full spectrum of emotions, and there are going to be a pretty big percentage of them who are not too pleased with what Macy had to say about the former “X Factor” band on “Live! with Kelly and Michael.”

Basically, Macy was speaking on the experience of going to a concert with his 13-year old daughter Sophia, and said that while she and the majority of the crowd in attendance all loved what they saw, he was barely able to stand it:

“I’ve been in showbiz all my life, so let me just say those guys can sing. They are very talented … They couldn’t put on a good show with a gun to their head.”

Specifically, Macy was not a fan of the choreography, but that’s not much of a surprise at all when you consider that the band has openly acknowledged already that they are not dancers. What he seems to be the most upset about is that Harry Styles of the group had the audacity to sit there and eat a sandwich in the middle of the show:

“I mean call me old-fashioned, but when I’m downstage singing my heart out, you better not eat a sandwich behind me.”

Who knows? Maybe this was all some sort of One Direction classic prank, and Macy is too old to get the humor. Or, maybe Harry was just really hungry after spending a ton of time getting ready to perform, and then starting off the set.

What do you think about Macy’s comments, and do you think One Direction fans should really care enough to be upset? Share your thoughts below.
