‘Girls’ season 3 spoilers: Andrew Rannells’ Elijah to get a new love interest

Are you excited for the return of Elijah to “Girls”? Let’s hope so, since his appearance on the HBO hit is only a matter of weeks out now. Andrew Rannells will actually be a regular starting in season 4, so it only makes sense that the writers will not waste any time developing him out this year … and that includes introducing a new love interest.

According to TV Guide, Danny Strong of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” fame is going to be guest-starring on an upcoming episode of the show as Pal, a man with a seriously questionable name.  Luckily, we feel like he is going to be an interesting guy underneath all of that irony.

The great thing about bringing Elijah back for a much larger role on the show is mostly that this is a character that still feels like has some gas left in the talk. There’s not really that much that we know about him yet save for his relationship with Hannah and that really awkward hookup attempt with Marnie that took place early during last season. Also, we’re curious as to what really gets him roped into the story and Hannah’s life again. She did not seem to be anywhere near interested in keeping him around season, but then again, she also showed with Jessa that she can occasionally be the forgiving type. (But will she be after Jessa tricked her yet again? We want to think that she is going to smarten up a little bit, but probably not.)

“Girls” season 3 will air another new episode starting on Sunday, and there is still quite a bit of good stuff coming up on the show.
