“Dallas” is heading back to TV on February 24, so before you prepare to say hello to the folks of Southfork Ranch again, brace yourself with the latest series of promos via TNT below. There is some footage of what lies ahead in them, and there is also plenty of something else that we know fans of the show appreciate: Heat. Specifically, we’re talking here about arguments, saucy scenes in the bedroom, and threats. Plenty of threats.
Even though J.R. Ewing may no longer be with us, these promos are a major reminder that “Dallas” is not going to be changing its ways. As a matter of fact, early indications are that the show may somehow be finding a way to be even more edgy and insane … and we are already very interested in seeing how they plan to go about doing that. Some new characters may end up helping, including one played by “90210” veteran AnnaLynne McCord.
But will this show capture an audience? One good thing that it has going for it right now is that it is premiering the Monday after the Olympics, and it won’t have to deal with that as competition. Unfortunately, it is going to be forced to deal with competing against “The Voice,” and that is definitely not a good thing. We’re talking here about one of the most-successful franchises on TV. At least half of the upcoming season is going to air during the summer; just in case the ratings are not particularly great for the start of the year, it will have a chance to recover later.
