‘Criminal Minds’ season 9, episode 12 preview: Take a dive into Garcia’s past

One of the lovely things about “Criminal Minds” over the years is that occasionally, there are different stories that give you some insight into who some of these characters were prior to their debut on the show itself. We’ve already seen one in Hotch, and there is a very JJ-specific story on the way very soon.

So on Wednesday night, the show will be back on the air with one that is going to be a deep dive into the world of Garcia’s past, and what she was up to during some of her earlier days within the hacking world. What does this mean? Flashbacks, and lots of them!

This is actually the second time this season that we’ve had some sort of insight beyond her work with the BAU, and it comes following an episode that featured a sort of “Dia de los Muertos” celebration earlier on the fall. This is obviously a very different story, and one that could be pretty fun to watch unfold. We prefer getting these sort of character stories to some of the more traditional ones, given that those are ones that are easily forgotten even a week or two down the road.
