MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 4: What is the premiere date?

“Awkward” is going to be making some changes going into what is its fourth season on the air. There are some new showrunners in Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler working behind the scenes, a new chapter to Jenna Hamilton’s life, and also potentially a whole heap of new faces. There is also potential that there could be some new relationships and changes that you really don’t see coming.

What we ultimately have for you today, though, is pretty simple: The official premiere date for what lies ahead. MTV confirmed late this week that Ashley Rickards and the rest of the cast will return to the air on Tuesday, April 15 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time for what is going to be a one-hour episode. This will be an installment that kicks off Jenna’s senior year, and also teases some of the following storylines:

1. A possible new girl who has an interest in Matty.

2. Questions about the futures for some of these characters after high school (otherwise known as the same thing that almost all high school shows deal with around this time).

3. A catfishing story that could turn up by the time the first half of the story is over, even if this seems to be hitting the airwaves around a year too late.

Is this going to be the last season for “Awkward”? There really hasn’t been any talk of it, but the only reason that we are worried is because this is the senior year. If you were to continue the show in college, you would have to come up with a whole new chorus of characters, a new setting, and then say goodbye to familiar faces. It’s possible, but it would feel like a very different show.

On a different note, we’re just glad to see the show back at 10:00 again. We were not fans of the timeslot this fall after “Snooki & JWoww,” especially on the occasions that the show ended up running deep into the 11:00 p.m. hour.
