‘Pretty Little Liars’: Lucy Hale releases ‘You Sound Good to Me’ music video
Apparently, one of the benefits to appearing on “Pretty Little Liars” is that you get a pretty fantastic opportunity to launch a music career.
You of course know Lucy Hale for playing Aria Montgomery on the hit ABC Family show, but on Tuesday night the network unveiled the music video for her song “You Sound Good To Me.” This video shows off just what sort of artist that Hale wants to be, along with a little bit of the aesthetics in which she wants to also give us with her music.
The first thing that we are able to see after watching this video is that Hale really wants to be the next big country-pop sensation. It doesn’t have the singer-songwriter vibe that Taylor Swift does, but there is a similar sort of emphasis on a hooky chorus and also some classic country imagery including a road trip, a convenience story in the middle of nowhere, and a campfire. It’s not a song that is meant to be necessarily deep, and really should just get fans of the show dancing and/or interested in picking up the CD. Hale owes quite a bit to the network for playing the song, since it is already getting a ton of attention online. “Pretty Little Liars,” after all, does have one of the biggest social audiences on all of TV.
As for whether or not this song will be huge on the radio, that is something that is still going to take a while to figure out. However, we should note that country radio has not always been the kindest to female singers over the years.
