‘The Biggest Loser’ 2014: Did Ruben Studdard return to the ranch … again?

“The Biggest Loser” is a competition that is at times largely about second chances, and so it really should not be that big of a surprise to see that many contestants are getting a chance to come back. This happened on Tuesday night’s new episode, where the person with the greatest percentage of weight loss got a chance to get back in the game, and compete for the grand prize again, as well as the at-home prize if they are eliminated again.

But for former “American Idol” champion Ruben Studdard, this actually marked his whopping third attempt at making it back on the show. The last time that we saw the singer, he returned thanks to an apparent rules violation on the part of Jillian Michaels’ team. He was then sent home for a second time, mostly because of the fact that he did not lose enough weight when you consider that he is one of the heaviest contestants in the competition.

So was the third time the charm for Ruben? Unfortunately, no. He was not able to make it back in the competition, though he can at least take pride in the fact that he has lost close to 90 pounds over the course of the season. Plus, he is still eligible to win the at-home prize at the very end of the season, if he can really start shedding some pounds … but that is going to be difficult, given that some previous at-home winners have lost a whopping half of their body fat over the course of the season.
