‘Sesame Street,’ Sarah Michelle Gellar teach all about ‘disappointment’
“Sesame Street” is at it again when it comes to combining the worlds of celebrity and children’s entertainment. In the video below, you can see none other than Sarah Michelle Gellar do a video alongside Elmo, where they take some humorous looks at the word disappointment. Gellar is the latest in a long line of celebrities, which include Ty Burrell, Melissa McCarthy, and NFL player Dwight Howard, who have all appeared on the show over the years.
So why pick her to do this, since kids have no clue who Gellar is? While we’ve touched on this a number of times before, here it is again if you’re new to CarterMatt: Studies have shown that interaction produces a better learning environment for kids, and getting stars to show up (which is fairly easy, since everyone grew up on the show and it is a great headline for you) is a way to keep adults active and engaged with what is going on instead of just plopping a kid in front of the TV babysitter.
When it comes to the subject of “disappointment,” we do imagine that Gellar is at least somewhat familiar with it. While she has had the luxury over the course of her career of doing some awesome things like “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and now “The Crazy Ones,” she did have to watch “Ringer” be canceled after flopping on The CW in the ratings. Also, there were those “Scooby-Doo” movies that were an even bigger scourge on the franchise than the creation of Scrappy-Doo as a character in the first place.
All in all, how cool do you think it is that Sarah did this? Share below.
