‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15, episode 10 preview: Mariska Hargitay’s Benson on the stand

Law & Order: SVU logo“Law & Order: SVU” is going to return to TV on January 8, and this drama is wasting no time whatsoever in bringing back the most dramatic situation of the entire year, and then finding a way to take things up yet another notch. Remember William Lewis? We are sure that you do, since he is someone who is ultimately pretty hard to forget. This is the man who was responsible for doing terrible things to Mariska Hargitay and her character of Benson, and the upcoming 10th episode of the season is all about trying to answer a very important question: What sort of justice awaits this man?

For the first time since she last faced her attacker at the start of the season, Pablo Schreiber’s character is going to be on trial when the show picks up, and Benson will have to testify against him. As you would expect, this is not going to be an easy process for her to go through. All of those terrible memories of so long ago are going to quickly creep back into her brain, and while it is possible that terrible things could again happen, it will be horrific for her even if everything goes according to plan.

The good news for Benson is that it is possible that following this, she won’t have to deal with Lewis again. Personally, we hope that this is the case. While Lewis created some great drama, this show is not really about her own trauma coming back to haunt her time and time again. Plus, it got a little too close to a torture movie early on this season.
