After running pretty late into the holiday season, it looks like “The Carrie Diaries” is finally going to be embarking on a little bit of a holiday break. The show will return with all-new episodes on Friday, January 3, meaning that there will at least be some time off for Christmas week. The only reason that this is somewhat surprising is that the series finale of “Nikita” airs next week, and this could have made for a pretty good pairing for ratings (at least if people are home).
When the show does return to The CW, get ready to party! This is at least based on the official synopsis for the episode, which suggests that there could be some crazy moments ahead for all of your favorite characters. Take a look below:
“Larissa (Freema Agyeman) gives Carrie (AnnaSophia Robb) some harsh advice about her relationship with Sebastian (Austin Butler). When Harlan (guest star Scott Cohen) asks Tom (Matt Letscher) to work overnight on a top-secret case, Dorrit (Stefania Owen) decides to throw an impromptu get-together, which quickly spirals out of control. Meanwhile, Mouse (Ellen Wong) and Donna (Chloe Bridges) get surprisingly close and Sebastian makes a hasty decision after another fight with his parents.”
“The Carrie Diaries” has, in addition to being a show with a pretty solid fan following, been one that has maintained the vast majority of its ratings momentum so far this season. Despite airing on Fridays and not getting great numbers, its consistency, average age, and performance online are all factors as to why it could be renewed eventually for a third season.
