‘Homeland’ season 3 finale spoilers: What to expect in ‘The Star’
Typically when you preview an episode of “Homeland,” there are a few concrete facts that you know in advance. But for the episode “The Star” airing on Showtime tomorrow night, almost every finer detail is some sort of mystery. Not only is there not a lot of information out there about the episode, but there were no sneak peeks released, no real promotional photos save for duplicates, and very few interviews about what to expect in terms of the story.
But given that this does mark the end of season 3, you can at least expect that there will be three major issues tackled before the hour is complete.
1. You will understand Brody and Carrie’s future in this world – Whether or not they are going to be together may be not be a questioned answered, but you should at least know whether or not Brody will ever be able to have a normal life again. There are reasons to worry about the fate of Damian Lewis’ character as well, but we almost feel like if he survives this episode, then he is probably not going anywhere for a while.
2. Saul’s place in the CIA will be established – Either the mission getting Brody out of Tehran will be Saul’s final hurrah as the head of the CIA, or he will find a new way to get involved in the organization. There is almost a part of us that wonders what rock bottom would be like for him without a job, and while we don’t want to see anything happen to our personal favorite bearded sage, it would be interesting to see him in a different place in his life.
3. Some resolution for the Brody family – Given that the news broke yesterday that neither Morena Baccarin and Morgan Saylor will be regulars in season 4, you have to imagination that the writers will find a way to get their own form of closure here. Otherwise, you run the risk of trying to bring people back who you’ve given permission to fill up their schedules with other things.
We will have our full review of the “Homeland” finale up on Sunday night after the episode airs, so be sure to stay tuned for some more news related to that. If you bookmark the link here, that’s where we’ll have all of our coverage tomorrow and beyond.

I think the finale ended correctly and it redeemed the entire season.
