‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5, episode 11 preview: Nina Dobrev, a toast, and the 100th episode
Tonight on “The Vampire Diaries,” we had a night full of shockers on “Fifty Shades of Grayson” that set up a winter / spring half of the season that really will push the story forward. Not only are Damon and Elena seemingly no longer a couple, but Katherine may finally be dead after 500 years following a nasty fall down the stairs. Who knew that after surviving the likes of Klaus and countless vampire-killers, it would be architecture that did her in?
The first question that we will ask here is fairly simple: When will the show return to The CW? The answer that we have to that is Thursday, January 23. Thanks to the show premiering a little earlier than everything else on The CW, you’re going to be waiting for a week longer for it to return. Surprisingly, the promo below for “500 Years of Solitude” does actually give one thing away: Katherine is going to be alive. It’s still not looking great for her, but that’s at least a glimmer of hope for some of you.
With this being the 100th episode of the show the promo below almost makes this out to be some sort of toast to the woman that many of these people feared for some time. They talk about the number of times that Katherine has tried or actually killed people, and it’s just a welcome dose of nostalgia. From our standpoint, that is what every episode of “The Vampire Diaries” really should be: An opportunity to tribute everything that has happened so far, and also an opportunity for a few more surprising moments along the way. Let’s hope that we know what Katherine’s true fate is going to be by the end of this.
