‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5, episode 9 preview: ‘The Cell,’ and Ian Somerhalder’s hard times
Are you ready for a difficult episode of “The Vampire Diaries” season 5? Then you are going to find one courtesy of “The Cell,” which is going to be one that has to show all sorts of painful stuff when it comes to Ian Somerhalder and his character of Damon. This is a guy that, in case you forgot over the past season, has a reputation for doing some terrible stuff. Much of that doesn’t go away just because he is with Elena, and seemingly trying to work on some aspects of his life.
Before you really do anything else, take a look at the synopsis below. While it may be pretty vague in relation to the promo, it does still tell you a little bit about what you can expect:
“Stefan (Paul Wesley) continues to offer Katherine (Nina Dobrev) his support while trying to mask his own pain, until Caroline (Candice Accola) shows up with an unusual form of therapy. After trying to make amends with Caroline, Elena (Nina Dobrev) grows so concerned about Damon (Ian Somerhalder) that she turns to Aaron (guest star Shaun Sipos) for help. Later, when Damon tells Elena about a terrible ordeal in his past that he has kept secret for decades, she shares the disturbing information she just learned about her own family. Finally, Aaron decides on a desperate course of action after a conversation with Dr. Wes (guest star Rick Cosnett).”
The big shocker at the end of the episode was that there was a secret science organization called Augustine where Damon has been to before. Why hadn’t this been something touched on in the show in the past? We have no real idea, but it seems like Damon’s about to be put in quite an electric situation (possibly literally).
