‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 4 spoilers: Finale title; the return of ‘Ravenswood’
And now, let’s turn to what is a pretty scary topic of conversation for ABC Family right now in “Ravenswood.”
First of all, we totally understand why this show was conceptualized, and why it was given a chance. It’s a great idea to do a “Pretty Little Liars” spin-off with the ratings that it got, especially one set in another creepy town. But for whatever reason, most of the new characters to go alongside Caleb simply did not resonate well enough to get much attention. For its second episode, the show lost a huge chunk of its audience, and finished with an 18-49 rating just under 0.5. This does not mean that we will be seeing too much of Ravenswood in the future, and Caleb could be back in Rosewood before we know it.
But, the spin-off is having right now to operate without much of a safety net and against fall programming, which includes “NCIS,” “Agents of SHIELD,” and a similar show in terms of tone in “The Originals.” “Ravenswood” will get a better opportunity for support in the winter, as the second part of its season will premiere on Tuesday, January 7 after “Pretty Little Liars.” This is clearly an opportunity to at least find a little more success.
