‘Hart of Dixie’ season 3, episode 3 review: Lynly tries to charm George, does it work?
“Hart of Dixie” has definitely upped the ante when it comes to drama this season. Zoe’s back in Bluebell with her new boyfriend Joel, Lemon and Wade are in a fake relationship in hopes of driving Zoe nuts (which it is) and George had a one night stand with Lavon’s cousin Lynly only for her to want more… and we are only going into the third episode tonight! Let’s see how much more drama they can pile on top of what they’ve already given us.
Zoe’s job woes: She’s come up with a plan to make Brick take her back at the clinic. She’s bribing him with baked goods, showing him her good relationships with the people in town and makes him think that she’s opening her own practice so he’ll get scared and take her back. After Joel messes things up with Brick, a big fight ensues between Brick and Zoe and she angrily tells him that she’s going to open her own practice. Unfortunately George informs her that she can’t do that because of a non-compete clause in her contract with Brick. He hires a private investigator to follow Zoe around to see if she’s treating any patients. Not only is she not treating anyone, but she knows the investigator is following her.
Lynly works on George: While helping Lynly study for her LSATs she is doing everything she can to win him over and even though he’s fighting her off in fear of having his arms broken by Lavon, there is definitely some major chemistry between them. Later, Lynly comes up with the great idea to go to George’s boat and lay mostly naked on his bed, but when he gets back and tells her to put her clothes on her dress zipper gets stuck. George tries to help her and gets his finger stuck and bleeding in her dress. She begs George not to call Brick since he’s spending the day with Lavon and so he calls Zoe and even though she can’t practice in Bluebell she goes to help him. Wade helps her get the investigator off of Zoe’s back while she helps George and Lynly out of their situation.
Lemon’s resistance: Cricket is ruling The Belles with an iron fist and so Lemon decides to try and stage a resistance against Cricket. When she finds out what Lemon is up to she throws the bylaws of the organization in Lemon’s face saying that she may be kicked out of the Belles unless she performs the sanctions of rebellion. Lemon speaks to Cricket in private and asks her to lift the sanctions, but she won’t and ends up scrubbing graffiti and scraping gum off the steps. In the end Lemon decides that any organization that would make her do this kind of thing isn’t worth being part of and she and AnnaBeth quit.
Seeing Zoe apologize to Brick at the end and explaining how much he and Bluebell mean to her was touching. It was also great to see Brick stop being so moody and open his heart back up to Zoe. Brick offers Zoe a job back at his practice and she is happy to accept. While we love the Lemon storylines this season we are having a tough time getting into anyone else. Grade: C.

I thought this episode was the best of the season so far! I actually like this Joel character and was totally put off Wade last season after he cheated, but I am starting to come back around to his side again because he seems to be acting like he actually would and not like he were last season (which I thought was dire). But yeah, I really like this season so far and I wish more people would watch it. Sure there ain’t much substance but that is what you expect and I can’t wait for the rest!

Seriously? First season was great, second season was good, or at least until half way through, third season is doomed after recent third and final episode. I think a show like this is one of those shows to get you out of your head, a make believe hour long distraction from reality but now I think they are gone way too far out of reality and hard to come back round. Who is this Joel guy and where did he come from? Is that the best they could do for a boyfriend for the Zoe character? Give me a break, what a doozie of a character. Wade her X seem to dig him, not only as Zoe’s boyfriend but also dig him in the gut.?. Zoe kisses him like you would your brother and George is a bigger looser than before. I thought she was a better actress that this or is it just the story she is given to act? Wade has absolutely NO story and thought they would have given him a new girlfriend/ boyfriend or something to make him interesting. Poor George character is as boring and pathetic as ever with that silly little girlie smile and Levon and AB.. well who are they again and what is their purpose? Not interested in the other non interesting characters…
HOD, sorry but I am over and out.

Joel is just weird and Zoe just wants the easy relationship. No REAL deep feelings need to be explored with Joel. With Wade, however, she has to open up to what is deep down and scary to her–to really give of herself and open herself up to all those feelings. To truly give herself to Wade—there really is no other choice for Zoe, except Wade. They belong together. Go away Joel.
