NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5 spoilers: Brie Larson returns, ‘True Blood’ alum to guest-star

The latest -Community” is really trying its hardest to prove one thing in the episode that follows the exit of Donald Glover: Their show is still going to be awesome, and you would be both out of your mind and ridiculous to stop watching just because Glover is gone. How else do you explain the rush of guest-starring news that has been coming out lately?

More than likely, you have already heard the news that Nathan Fillion will be coming over from “Castle” for the sixth episode of the season, and Katie Leclerc from “Switched at Birth” will also be taking part in some shape or form. The latest person that you can add to the mix is someone who you know very well already: Brie Larson otherwise known as the coat-check girl. Her casting (per TVLine) is a sign that creator Dan Harmon is not going to take season 4 and wipe the slate as if it never happened at all, since she was one of the best parts of it as the coat-check girl that seemed to actually have an attachment of sorts to Abed.

Also, Larson will be joined by some other familiar faces, including “True Blood” / “Terminator” alum Robert Patrick, the previously-reported Paget Brewster from “Criminal Minds,” and the newly-added Ben Folds (the second judge of “The Sing-Off” to appear after Sara Bareilles’ brief cameo) and also Kumail Najiana, best known for “Franklin & Bash” and his awesome “Indoor Kids” podcast for all of you gamers out there. This installment will be featured around a school dance and our personal dream will be that Abed meets so many new faces to help him understand that it is going to be okay not having Troy around, because there are some many other great possible friends that he could meet at Greendale.

Are you a fan of these castings? Be sure to share your thoughts below! There’s still no word on when “Community” season 5 will premiere, but based on some of the ratings right now for NBC’s “Welcome to the Family,” don’t be surprised if it, like “Mike & Molly,” returns in the November sweeps thanks to the cancellation of something else.
