‘Downton Abbey’ season 4, episode 4 spoilers: Michelle Dockery questions; Edna’s last move

Take a look -The official synopsis for Sunday night’s “Downton Abbey” episode has been revealed, and it was carefully designed with one key thing in mind: Just in case you accidentally stumbled upon reading this, you are not going to be spoiled too much by what happened on Sunday. (With that being said, there are some massive spoilers ahead for American readers!)

This episode will deal with the aftermath of the party that took place at Downton this Sunday, and there were quite a few events that transpired, whether it be the latest attempt by Edna to undermine Tom Branson or the shocking rape of Anna that took place at the hands of Mr. Green. This episode will begin with her still trying to deal with just what has transpired, and there are questions surrounding if she will be bold enough to finally admit what happened to Bates.

Take a look at the full synopsis below:

“Amid the fallout of the eventful house party a trip to the bright lights of London is planned. Here Sir John Bullock shows his true colours and Rose finds gallantry comes from an unexpected quarter … Gregson shares ambitious plans with Edith, taking their relationship to another level … Back at the Abbey Mary faces a pressing question about her future, Isobel accepts an offer from Dr Clarkson which rekindles her social conscience, and the manipulative Edna finds herself outmaneuvered … Below stairs Carson reveals surprisingly intimate details of his former life, and Daisy’s clumsy attempt to get closer to Alfred may push him further away.”

To us, the Carson story is perhaps the most intriguing, mostly because he is such a private, guarded man that has at times come out of his shell this season to great entertainment. If we do get the opportunity to see more of this, it could bring both a massive smile to our and Jim Carter’s face. We’re sure he loves exploring the layers of this man.

As for the surprise man expressing interest in Rose, we’re looking straight at Jack Ross, the black jazz singer who brings something very new to the show in terms of diversity.
