MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 3 spoilers: Check out a sneak peek from the fall premiere!

Jenna Hamilton’s birthday is coming up on the “Awkward” season 3 fall premiere on Tuesday, October 22, but for whatever reason, she is not exactly concerned with making this the best birthday of her entire life. Instead, at the top of her own priority list appears to be sitting around and feeling ridiculously miserable.

As for the reason why, she’s got a good one: She has cemented herself as a horrible person courtesy of cheating on Matty with Collin, the artsy member of her creative writing class, at the end of the spring season. Yet, for whatever reason she is still keeping that secret away, expecting it to never come out. Even when she realizes in the sneak peek below that Matty has gotten her something ridiculously nice for her birthday, she still does not open up and tell the truth.

At this point, we wonder if Matty is starting to realize that something clearly is amiss here. After all, she is hardly showing much of an openness to spend her special day with him, even though her parents are out of town and it marks a rare opportunity for them to spend the night together without any distractions getting in the way. It’s an unusual reaction for her to be so disinterested, but we have also learned over the years that being perceptive is also not something that we can fully identify at this point as being one of Matty’s strong suits.

The one thing that we do feel pretty confident about is that the longer that Jenna chooses to hold on to this secret and allow it to simmer, the worse things are going to be for her at the end of the day.
